Farafra Graduate Village

The idea of the project is based on the settlement of university graduates in the areas of land reclamation in the Egyptian deserts by creating productive housing settlements based on an understanding of the nature of the desert and the settlement pattern in it. The idea of the proposed planning and design was based on understanding the language of construction in the desert, and this language was translated at five levels at the level of the desert region. The form of the village, then the level of the housing group, in which the language moved to the level of formation and socio-ecological balance required for desert architecture, then parts of the dwelling, dealing with materials, construction methods, and the direct symbolism of desert dwelling
